It has come to my attention that recently several Far from the MCC records have been broken. This is all well and good, congratulations, you’ve done a fine job. But players should remember that not everything that happens on or off a cricket field can necessarily be construed as a record.

For instance, Highest Individual Score is a record, Most Number of Hats Stolen During A Four Hour Period is not. Most Wickets in a Season is a record, Highest Number of Seconds Between Rained-Off Net Sessions is not. Most Catches In An Innings is a record, Duration of Dan’s Boundary-side Urination is not. Otherwise, keep up the good work. The Inspectors are watching you.
